This photo uses multiple rises of photography:
Simplicity- because it gots a simple background that doesn't distract from the dog.
Cropping- there is selective cropping sense it doesn't show the whole dog.
and
Rule of thirds
News Value;
Human Interest- because no body wants to see the dog get put to sleep.
Proximity- because the dog was found close to my area
Lighting- this is a cellulite photo because of the properly placed lighting.
The Photographer used a prime lens because it didn't have to be zoomed in.
Make it Better:
Move the subject to the kennel so it could show some more human interest. A little bit more space from his nose to his paper. Or to see the whole dog.
Lenses and Photography Vocabulary
I would use a telephoto lens to-
take a photo of some birds from far away. Because this lens allows me to get closer to my subject (Bird) and it the picture also tends to flatten out and look more 2D. which would be perfect for the outdoors.
I would use a prime lens to-
take a picture in a dark area maybe an animal at night. Because this lens is used in low light and have large apertures.
I would use a wide angle lens to-
take a picture of a city from a high point of view. so i could get the full scene so it can be obvious to others who are looking at the photo.

Pentagon Finds Nuclear Strides by North Korea
This is impact because this particular subject has an affect on a audience which is basically the whole country of the United States of America.
Conflict:
Nearly 400 People Detained in Immigration Raid in Russia
This is conflict, because it has the meeting of two opposing forces, and these forces are little bit of both physical and emotional.
Human Interest:
Woman reported missing from South Austin park found
Woman reported missing from South Austin park found
This is Human Interest, because it has an emotional struggle which can involve, human interest.
Novelty:
Mystery Surrounds Withdrawal of ‘Django Unchained’ in China
This is Novelty, because it attracts people to this subject and is unusual that there is a withdrawal of a completely harmless movie in my opinion.

Choice Sheets
Publications I'm thinking of joining next year-
Im thinking about going to Year book next year, because I like how the students are responsible for two page spreads in the year book, because its a 200 page book. And I also like how students are responsible for all the content on the spread, like pictures, captions, headlines, and writing a short story. I also would want to be in year book just because I could say I've helped making it and I would get to see it before really anyone else in the school, Other than the students in my class of course.

Questions: 1.
1. 17 creative uses of lens flare:
http://www.lightstalking.com/lens-flare

Magazine Part II
Early Magazine Covers:
Early magazine covers used to model them after the covers of books. Only providing a title and publication data. And there were also no descriptive words indicating what would be found inside of the magazine. The symbolic cover and it uses a generic illustration without showing any of the issues specific contents. In 1896 it shows cover design which is a illustration and has art, music, literature, science, and others.
The Poster Cover:
The poster covers are the covers that show pictures that need no words. Its from the 1890s to the 1960s and were oversized magazines and looked like they were printed to be framed and hung on a wall. Post covers still appear in magazines today, and they are confident in its audience, each of these magazines can present a cover with a single focus.

Sports Illustrated, Winter 2011: "Swimsuit 2011"
(Photograph by Bjorn Iooss)
Landing on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition makes supermodels into pop culture icons. Such was the case this year for Irina Shayk, a Russian beauty whose bronze skin and green eyes have made her a Swimsuit regular since 2007. Credit must also be given to photographer Bjorn Iooss, who snapped the cover photo with the first-ever Sports Illustrated shoot. Iooss' cover shot came one year after his father, Walter Jr., snapped his eleventh Swimsuit cover.

Magazine Tips
5 things about designing my magazine cover:
1. No matter what you put on the cover, keep the six functions of covers in mind:
1. Familiar recognition from issue to issue (that’s the brand)
2. Emotionally irresistible (that’s the image’s appeal)
3. Arousing curiosity (that’s to pull the casual glancer in)
4. Intellectually stimulating, interesting (that’s to promise benefits)
5. Efficient, fast, easy to scan (that’s showing off the service)
6. Worth the investment of money and time (that’s the “What’s in it for me?”)

It glows in vivid colors that will inevitably turn disappointingly dull when printed in ink. A hard-copy printout may be closer.
The screen is the wrong size, no matter how big it is. You can’t see it intimately as if it were in your hands.

Welcome Back!
I liked this photo because it shows a snowflake how you would see it look like in cartoons. And the background with the little water drops its just a good photo.
I liked this photo because of the background and the color of the background and the mountain.
I liked this photo because it just look cool how the cave looks and how the torch that the girl is holding just lights up the whole cave.
Best song of 2012:
A$AP Rocky- Goldie
I think this is the best song of 2012 in my opinion because this is a rapper that is just going mainstream this year its new. His punchlines are different its not like the usual rappers a lot of people are used to like lil wayne or drake. So he kind of brings back that little old school to rap back when tupac and BIGE were alive.
Best movie of 2012:
I think this movie is the best movie of 2012, because it stands out of every little comedy movie. I've never seen a comedy with a talking bear so I think I like it so much because it stands out and its unique. Who would of thought of a bear that drinks and smokes and that takes drugs.
Most important news story of 2012:
I think this is the most important news story of 2012 because I think it was shocking to a lot of people in the country. This was a very respected coach in the school and to think he would do something like is just really just shocking. And it made a 4 year post season ban on football and a reduction in football scholarships.
Most important person of 2012:
I think Barack Obama was the most important person of 2012, because he some what brought up our economy although there was some issues in the making of doing it. But I think he knows how to talk to the people of America and has really good quotes he almost describes the definition of how a president should be. And he showed good courage and leader ship when sent a navy seals chief to take down Osama bin laden.
Christmas Break:
1. All I basically did during the break is work a lot and stay home and rest while I don't have work so I just enjoyed my free time while I had it. But I got a new phone that I enjoy a lot which is the Samsung Galaxy S III.
2. My resolution was to make at least As and Bs, its going to be hard but its going to be worth it.
3. Im looking forward to how my school and personal life is going to be like this year so far I'm in enjoying high school but I'm not sure if Akins is the school for me.

Depth of field( shallow and wide) Whats in focus when its shallow only a little is in focus and wide means a lot of stuff is in focus.
Light( angle and intensity) Angle- is about where the light is coming from. Intensity- is how bright the light is.
Shadows are the absence of light
Diffusion decreasing the intensity of the light( altering light)
Exposure what does your picture look like is it to light or to dark or perfect.
Aperture(f-stop) Inside the lens and how big the opening is.
Shutter speed has to do with the mirror thats inside the camera. And how fast the mirror opens and closes.
ISO Has to do with the sensor inside the camera its about how sensitive the sensor is to light. As you increase the iso you increase the amount of grain you see in your picture.
Types of lenses- telephoto, prime, wide angle
Telephoto- zooms you closer to your object
Prime- does not zoom, bigger aperture setting
